I am involved in my city in a variety of ways–including being actively involved in my church, participating in local professional organizations, and playing in area orchestras and ensembles.
I currently lead a outreach to the Johnson County Juvenile Detention Center. Our outreach team (Storyboard) uses board games from MNU’s Center for Games and Learning to play with the youth and teach them 21st Century skills. We also teach the kids storytelling concepts using games.
I am an active member of Christ Community Evangelical Free Church. In addition to attending regularly, I also volunteer as a children’s storyteller and am involved in local missions opportunities.
I am a member of the Kansas Library Association, and I attend conferences as they occur and present whenever possible.
