North Carolina

I am actively involved in my state community in a variety of ways – including volunteering for the Winston-Salem Symphony, playing upright bass in various orchestras and ensembles, and regularly attending my church.

I also am an active participant within the North Carolina network of librarians. I am a member of several professional organizations, including NCLA, NCCCLA, NC LIT-e. and NC LIVE. I attend conferences as they occur for each of these organizations, and I present whenever possible. Currently, I am serving on the NCLA Scholarship Committee, and also on the LIRT Membership Committee through the ALA. I volunteer bi-weekly as a virtual librarian for NC Knows, providing on-demand expert research assistance for patrons across the state.

Within the Davidson County Community College community, I serve on the International Education Committee and Scholars of Global Distinction Sub-committee. As a part of these committees, I attend the annual World View NC Distinction Meeting at University of North Carolina: Chapel Hill.
